Black River Gorges National Park

It stretches over 6574 hectares of incredible native forests and wildlife. It covers almost 4% of Mauritius land area and is home to over 300 species of flowering plants. There are hiking trails for people who will like to take a walk in nature. It is also the habitat of the pink pigeon, a bird that is going extinct.

Chateau de Labourdonnais

Screen Shot 2017-06-15 at 21.43.08It is a mansion built in 1859 at the heart of a splendid natural estate. There is also a distillery present on the property and you get to taste the locally produced Rum. You also get the opportunity to dine the Mauritian way, enjoying Mauritian cuisine.

Grand Bassin

This is a crater lake located high up on a mountain about 1800 feet about Sea level. It is a place with a lot of Hindu temples, thus is considered sacred. Inhabitants of the island believe it is filled with holy waters from the Ganges River in India. There is a temple for the goddess Shiva and also giant statues.
Grand Bassin has become one of the most popular Hindu spiritual sites outside India.

Champ de Mars Racecourse

This is a thoroughbred horse racing located in Port Louis Mauritius and was inaugurated in 1812, making it the world’s second oldest racing club. The racetrack has a circumference of 1,298 m and a width of about 13 m. The annual celebration of the accession to independence is held on the racecourse.
From March to December there are tourists from all over the world who come to bet on horses.

Ile Aux Cerfs

This is a paradise island located on about 100 hectares of land. You will find some of the world’s most beautiful sandy beaches on this island. It is one of the most popular tourist locations in Mauritius. There are several activities on the island such as deep-sea fishing, hiking and trekking, diving, speedboat trips, sightseeing tours, safari wildlife adventures and golf packages. There are luxurious hotels and spas on the island as well.
