They tell you Africa is dark

They never mention they put out the lights

A continent of sharks

Yet few know their rights

We have got gold and whatever they seek

They take as they plot an act of deceit

They say it is unfair to call it rape there was no struggle

Yet we bear the mark of the troubled

They said we came in peace

And you were the menace

They came with the bible

We blindly became their disciples

We could not see through their façade

Fell for a foreign tongue full of cheap talk

Full of doctrines we knew now how to dispose

So we lost our sense and repose

Even now there is no zeal to take back what is ours

They say education is liberation

We made education ours

But there is still so few to build our nations

We look up to them

They look down on us

Forever in an act of supremacy

Still they advertise democracy
